This pair of NikeID’s I made basically comes from the original phrase used to describe sneakers, which was plain and simple “Tennis Shoes.” So I mocked up these Nike LunarGlide 3′s in an tonal Volt colorway with grey accents and a light vivid blue on the sole, a slight nod to the US Open. The other part of the inspiration came from the Flock Of Seagulls song and artwork since these are running sneakers.
I can’t say enough good things about this little vignette. I’m a fan of what both gentlemen do.First Jake Davis has a great eye for visual style and for displaying that and second Mark McNairy makes some of my favorite pieces of menswear. Visual Poetry.
When it comes to sneakers and footwear we all have our favorite “Ride Or Die” pairs that we wear on a consistent basis. Going into making this pair of Bespoke Air Force One’s I was inspired by the few days leading up to the appointment. This bespoke was inspired by the Jordan 3 black/cement and the Jordan 11 “Spacejam” which are the two pairs I wear consistently no matter what, whether it’s to chill, run errands or party. The sunglasses and Advil part was inspired by the EPIC Nigel Sylvester Birthday party at the penthouse of Hotel on Rivington NYC which gave me the only headache/hangover the next morning which inspired the use of cement print symbolizing the head crack I had. Now I’m adding this pair to my “Ride or Die” pairs.
A few Pictures of the madness that was Nigel Sylvester’s birthday party. A definite “Sunglasses And Advil” kind of night.
Yesterday I headed over to the opening of Uniqlo’s “Skating Rink” at the 30th street end of the High Line park. It’s dope to see how the city and Uniqlo partnered to make use out of two empty lots over there. Uniqlo also has a men’s and women’s pop-up store “cube” where u can purchase items from. Skate rentals are free for the first 500 people today after that I posted a pic of the prices which are reasonable. Also, adjacent to the rink is “The Lot” which features food, beer, & wine trucks. This sure makes for a nice addition to the High Line.
I picked up this pretty dope and super useful Nike Sportswear USB “Always On” bracelet. The bracelet comes preloaded with a short video of Team Nike’s basketball team and the MP3 of Team Nike’s Anthem by Vado titled “Always On”. Check for these at your local Nike Sportswear store, dealer, or even the Nike Ice Cream Truck that’s driving around NYC. The USB comes with 2GB worth of space which is super useful for anyone and any work.
I’m a HUGE Theophilus London fan back from the first mixtape JAM so I had to attend and spaz out at his debut Album release concert. His energy level is always at a high level and the music was spot on. I had a blast also if you haven’t bought his album yet, you might wanna do yourself and your ears a favor and pick that up or download it from iTunes.
